Spooky new track by Pretty Pretty Awful

Ohio based punk rock band “Pretty Pretty Awful” just made their debut on Punkerton Records and our team got to listen to their newest single. Formed in 2021, initially as a side project, the band features members of Midwest Emo band, Darling Waste. The new single, “Mostly Ghostly” tells a story about Thanatophobia, or the fear of death, an often heavy topic, and intense fear for most. Speaking on such a heavy topic, the instrumentals and vocals of the band also follow suit on adding heavy and melancholy, but catchy vibes to the track. The music is very reminiscent of a mixture of AFI, Hawthorne Heights, The Wonder Years, and Alkaline Trio. A pleasurable listen to modern day, and classic pop-punk fans, fusing past and present sounds together. The vocal and guitar work of Anthony Powers is extraordinary in capturing that nostalgic pop-punk sound, whilst adding his own personal twist on to it in my opinion. By listening, you can tell that each musician in the band is seasoned and experienced in both the genre, and the industry as a whole. “Mostly Ghostly” is the lead-off single of their debut EP in Spring of 2022, and we couldn’t be more excited to hear more. If you are/were a Midwest/East coast emo kid, this track is a must listen! We promise you will not be disappointed!
