Black metal punk band BLACK VOID will release their debut album, Antithesis, on May 27th with Nuclear Blast Records. The group is made up of vocalist, bassist Lars Are Nedland (Borknagar, Solefald), drummer Tobias Øymo Solbakk and guitarist Jostein Thomassen (Borknagar, Source of Tide), and this record is a driving, nihilistic expression of violent aggression the builds upon Nietzsche’s philosophical works.
This album from start to finish is so sick! I loved every minute of it and you can honestly feel the intensity of each song rush through your veins. One of my favorite songs on this record has got to be “Nihil”, the second that I heard the little death metal stompy breakdown they do about a minute in, I was already hooked. On top of that, they end with a heavier than hell blast beat which is definitely my guilty pleasure.
Be on the lookout for “Antithesis” on May 27th, but in the meantime, you can check out the music video for their single “Dadaist Disgust” which is also featured on the album below! This song also features guest vocals by the legendary Sakis Tolis of the almighty Rotting Christ!
